Hi! I'm Marcos Herranz Ramírez, a Spanish game developer working in Kofi Quest.
I have been trying to develop games since I was a kid until now starting with RPGMaker, Flash, Unreal and I'm currently using Unity.
I'm a gameplay and UI/UX programmer mainly but I like to do a lot of other things: VFX, Shaders, design game mechanics, helping designers with tools, etc.
Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD is a single-player adventure with Action RPG and RTS mechanics that aims to be fun, challenging and story-driven.
You’ll control Kofi, a weak, lazy and unlucky videogame character that will be followed by a group of interesting (and pathetic) characters aiding him to live a great adventure.
The game is out now on Steam with a Nintendo Switch version in development.
A few things that I helped develop for the game:
The game allows you to select and give orders to the units. Each unit has special abilities that the player can use for combat or to solve puzzles. Captains are special and stronger units (Kofi is one of them) with MOBA-type abilities.
A custom tool that allows the map designer to create maps. It has options to place tiles, autotiler, placing prefabs, setting lights, setting water/lava planes, etc.
Project developed in the Master of Design and Game Development of the UPC. In this project, made with Unreal Development Kit, I was the programmer, the rigger and the animator, and I also performed tasks such as 3D modeling, texturing, level design, etc.
A series of RPGMaker games in which I used plugins and custom tools, developed by me, to transform the different systems of the default engine. The modifications include several iterations of a new Action-RPG battle system, custom menus, climbing and acrobatics, visual weapon swap, etc.
